The Viking in your kitchen
is not a normal appliance.

Professional-grade burners, heavy cast grates and control systems that behave nothing like a mass-market range. We diagnose them with a manometer and a service manual — then quote, once, with the number in front of you.

Who turns up

One van, one valley, and a lot of Viking

We are a small independent shop working the Sammamish valley out of Woodinville. Not a call centre with a dispatch map — the person who answers the phone is the person who will be standing in your kitchen, and that is deliberate.

Viking builds professional-style equipment for domestic kitchens, which means commercial burner geometry, heavy cast grates and control systems that behave nothing like a mass-market appliance. Diagnosing one properly takes a manometer and a service manual, not a parts cannon.

So we quote after we look, never before. If the honest answer is that a twenty-year-old unit is not worth the sealed-system work, we will say so and you will owe us the $89 service call and nothing else.

More on how we work

Repairs

Four things we are called out for

Each one starts the same way: find out what the appliance is actually doing before anybody talks about parts.

From the log

A Hollywood Hill range, start to finish

Stainless pro-style gas range with cast grates and sealed burners, oven door open
Equipment of the type described
Reported

Two burners orange, one dead

A 36-inch dual-fuel range where the right-hand burners had gone lazy and sooty over about six months, and the front-left had stopped lighting entirely. The previous quote called for a full burner assembly and an igniter module.

Screwdrivers, pliers and a wire brush beside a latch arm, spring and fasteners on a cloth
The tools and small parts a job like this takes
Found and fixed

Gas pressure, not parts

Manometer showed the manifold running well under spec, with a partially closed shutoff behind the range from a prior appliance swap. Correct the supply, clean and re-seat three burner caps, replace one cracked spark electrode. Under a third of the quoted figure, no assembly needed.

Both frames are illustrative of the equipment and the parts involved. They are not before-and-after photographs of this repair.

This is the single most common story on Viking cooktops in this area: a pressure or seating problem misread as a component failure.

In their words

What people say afterwards

Every one of these is a Woodinville address and a Viking appliance.

  • Self-clean locked our door and we had a house full of people coming. He talked me through releasing it over the phone that evening and came out the next morning to replace the latch motor properly.

  • Front-left burner clicked and never caught. He pulled the cap, cleaned a cracked electrode seat and set it square again. Lit first try and has every time since.

    Halvor N.Downtown Woodinville · Jul 2025

  • Built-in column, fresh food side up at 50 degrees, freezer perfectly fine. Diagnosed the evaporator fan in about fifteen minutes and had the motor on the van. Explained why it was that and not the compressor.

Straight answers

Asked on the phone, most weeks

If yours is not here, ask it on the phone. Nobody is working from a script.

How quickly can you get to a Viking in Woodinville?

Most calls placed before 11am are seen the same day. Downtown Woodinville, Hollywood Hill and Wellington sit inside the core route, so those addresses usually get the earliest windows. Cottage Lake and the Woodinville–Duvall corridor are typically next-morning.

My cooktop burner clicks but will not light. Is that expensive?

Usually not. On a Viking sealed burner the common causes are a burner cap sitting slightly proud of its base, a soiled or cracked spark electrode, and low manifold pressure. All three are inexpensive. A genuine igniter module failure exists but is far less common than it gets quoted as.

Do you work on built-in and panel-ready refrigeration?

Yes — built-in columns, integrated units with custom cabinet panels, and undercounter refrigeration. Panel-ready installations get pulled and re-set carefully, and door alignment is checked before we leave.

What does the visit cost, and is it credited?

A flat $89 service call covers the visit and the full assessment, and it is credited in full against the repair if you approve the work. You get a firm number for parts and labour before anything is opened up or ordered.

When are you working, and when is the phone answered?

The crew is on the road 8:00 am to 8:00 pm, seven days a week. The phone itself is answered 24/7, so an overnight failure can be logged the moment it happens and given the first sensible slot rather than waiting for morning. You can also book a slot yourself on the booking page at any hour.

Do you carry Viking parts on the van?

The routine failure items, yes: spark electrodes and modules, evaporator fan motors, door latch assemblies, thermistors, drain pumps, gaskets and the widespread control boards. Model-specific and sealed-system components are ordered against your serial number.

Are you an authorised Viking service centre?

No. We are an independent repair business and we are not affiliated with, authorised by or endorsed by Viking Range, LLC. We use the Viking name only to describe the equipment we service. Anything still inside the factory warranty should go through Viking directly.

Model number, what changed, and when. That is usually enough to narrow the fault before anyone is dispatched — and it keeps the visit short. Call the line or pick your own slot on the booking page.
